74. Mudethir · verses 14–16

وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمۡهِيدٗا

Wamahhadtu lahu tamheedan

To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable!

ثُمَّ يَطۡمَعُ أَنۡ أَزِيدَ

Thumma yatmaAAu an azeeda

Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);-

كـَلَّآۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِأٓيَٰتِنَا عَنِيدٗا

Kalla innahu kana liayatina AAaneedan

By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory!
