83. Mutafifin · verses 14–20

كـَلَّاۖ بَلۡۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ

Kalla bal rana AAala quloobihim ma kanoo yaksiboona

By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do!

كـَلَّآ إِنَّهُمۡ عَن رَّبِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّمَحۡجُوبُونَ

Kalla innahum AAan rabbihim yawmaithin lamahjooboona

Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled.

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُواْ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

Thumma innahum lasaloo aljaheemi

Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell.

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ

Thumma yuqalu hatha allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona

Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false!

كـَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ

Kalla inna kitaba alabrari lafee AAilliyyeena

Day, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in ´Illiyin.

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ

Wama adraka ma AAilliyyoona

And what will explain to thee what ´Illiyun is?

كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ

Kitabun marqoomun

(There is) a Register (fully) inscribed,
